EXPANDABLE
HIGH DENSITY ADAPTABLE DWELLINGS

Everyone's life is different, and everyone's spatial requirements are different, during different periods of time. It is impossible for architects to satisfy the different needs of individuals when a building is built. Only individuals themselves understand what is best for their needs or desire, similarly only they know what is best for their living environment and space. Despite the advancement of technology, architecture had remain relatively static since post-modernism in terms of adapting to changes – more importantly, adapting to the changing needs and desire of individuals throughout their daily needs in the short term, and life journey in the long term.

With the combination of standardised structures and lightweight construction materials, this thesis attempts to create an experimental residential architecture which is capable of allowing its occupants to determine their own spatial arrangements based on their needs at any particular time in the short term or long term.
